A New York Central 4-6-4 "Hudson", The Twentieth Century, was started 11-26-'97. Since there was much garden and orchard work, the engine was only worked on during winter months. So, it took until 2002 to have it finished. It was built with walnut, maple, and cocobolo (a very hard, nearly black wood). 54" long. (All light colored wood for drivers is maple.)
The observation car, Manhattan Island, came right after the engine was finished. It is walnut and cherry, 49" long.
